I am Dan, the Director of Hove Gardens Limited. I hold a National Diploma in Horticulture and Garden Design from Brinsbury College, where I graduated with distinction. My journey to horticulture began after my first professional career as a nightclub DJ, and I found my true calling in creating well-being and inspiration through garden design and construction.
Discovering the beauty of plants and the joy of creating gardens for others felt like something I was meant to do. I am passionate about the outdoors and dedicated to making inspiring spaces where people can relax and connect with nature. I have lived in Hove for over 25 years and love being by the sea. This deep connection to the community is reflected in my work; I've hosted many street parties to bring neighbours together and worked on community projects like the Secret Garden and Hove Lagoon.

I pride myself on being considerate, efficient, reliable, honest, adaptable, and creative, which helps me design and build beautiful gardens tailored to people's needs. I am technically minded, skilled, and hard-working. This combination brings high-quality construction with excellent function and form. The harder the challenge, the more creative I can be. I relish these experiences and enjoy working with all materials available in garden building.
I am also adept at managing a team with various talents and personalities. It is a great honour to create healthy and fulfilling work for myself and others.

Hove is a unique place with its relatively small gardens and urban environment near the sea, and I understand the specific demands this brings. In terms of logistics, construction and horticulture.
My business is built on principles of transparency, ethics, and integrity. I am committed to maintaining honest and trustworthy relationships with my clients, aware of the common concerns people have with tradesmen. As a family man with two daughters in local schools, everything I do in my business reflects how I live my life. I love gardens and Hove, and my passion for both drives everything I do.

Ali has a passion for carpentry and enjoys building as much as growing. Creating garden spaces brings them real joy; an opportunity to be fully present, and make places where plants (and people) can thrive. Alongside gardening, Ali teaches comedy improv and consults on Diversity & Inclusion, bringing the same care and curiosity to people as to plants.

Our Irish queen.

Lucas grew up in Spain but has lived in Brighton and Hove for 15 years now. A nature lover and fitness enthusiast, landscape gardening makes for a seamless blend of both for Lucas. You can usually find them planting, pointing, rendering and rescuing newts or frogs.

The youngest on the team but by no means the smallest - Hector is our human bulldozer. However, when he's not swinging his mattock, you can find him in Brazil studying bottlenose dolphin populations, since he graduated in marine biology.

One of our newer members; Tom brings a dash of nothernism to the team, along with a questionable sense of humour. His natural flare for planning and design quickly made him a valuable cog in the mechanism. He is also an excellent trench digger.

Also a new and exciting addition, Clem, is originally from South Africa, but moved to Brighton when he was 17. Despite still acclimatising to the UK weather, he always has a spring in his step, a cheeky look on his face and gets stuck into the work.
